ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS The Foresters' Hall, Onehunga, was well filled when the Light of Manukau Lodge, U.A.0.D., celebrated its 29th* anniversary. The hall had been beautifully decorated. Over 1 200 members and visitors were present and included representatives from all the other lodges of Nos. 6 'and 23 districts, also kindred societies. Six of the foundation members were present and were warmly welcomed. A full toast list was honoured, the Arch Druid, Bro. Fullmer, presiding. A good programme was enjoyed and the whole anniversary proved one ol the happiest and most successful yet held.
One of the finest installations held in the Auckland district for a long time took place at the Methodist Schoolroom, Onehunga, when the installation of the.worshipful master and officers of Loyal Orange Lodge, Dreadnought, No. 88, was carried out with due ceremony. Tho hall was filled to overflowing with visitors from local lodges, while a contingent from Hamilton, Cambridge and Mutamata lodges took a lively interest in the proceedings. Lodges from Whangarei in the north to Taumarunui in tho south were also represented, while two Christehurch members were also in attendance. The installation was carried out by the district master, Wor. Bro. G. Searle, and the officers of No. 2 District Lodge. During the evening presentations of a Past Master's jewel and a Past Master's certificate wore made to Past Masters Wor. Bros. T. E. Smith and J. R. Nelson respectively. At the conclusion ot tho installation the district master was initiated into a section of tho order, which is only sponsored by Lodge 88. Various toasts were honoured at the subsequent supper and several speakers stressed the forward movement which was apparent in the order. The officers installed were: —W M., Bro. B. Walsh; D. of C., Wor. Bro. W. H. Hay ward; S.D., Bro S. J. Pullman; J.D., Bro. F. J. Godfrey; 1.G., Wor. Bro. R. 0. Lord; 0.T., Wor. Bro. R. A. Jackson; committee, Wor. Bros. T. R. Gilbert, W. H. Haywnrd, F. Jackson and R. C. Lord; district delegates, Wor. Bros. J. R. Nelson, T. E. Smith, W. H. Hayward and G. W. McNicklc; Grand Lodge delegate, Wor. Bro. T. R. Gilbert; auditors. Wor. Bros. R. C. Lord and L. P. Crook.
The card tournament that has been in progress during the winter months among teams from tho various friendly society lodges in Whangarei has been concluded, the Druids' Lodge securing the Preobe Shield. Tho Druids in the final match compiled the highest score made in night in this tourney. The lodges competing and their scores were: —Druids. 39,330; Hibernians. 37,250; Maungatapere Manchester TJnity Lodge, 36,470; L.0.L., 32,320; Aloha, 29,550; 1.0.0. F. Lodge, 28,000; Whangarei Manchester Unity, 28,370: L.L.0.L., 23,690.
