FISHING AT TAUPO
FEW ANGLERS OUT MODERATE CATCHES REPORTED [by telegraph—own* correspondent! TAUPO. Wednesday The heavy rain which set in yesterday afternoon and continued until this afternoon was succeeded by bright sunshine. Tinder such conditions very little fishing has been done. Commander Dawnay and the Lady. Angela Dawnay, dry fly fishing at the Fulljames Reach, landed six fish on the evening rise, using mostly the nymph fly. The best fish was one of 41b. Surgeon-Colonel Anderson, of England, caught seven fish on the evening rise at the same spot, his best also being 41b. He used only the nymph and sedge dry flies. . I)r. L. R. Hetherington, of Waihi, wet fly fishing at the Four-Mile Bay, landed" eight fish with the yellow and red matuku fly. The best fish weighed sJlb. Mr. T. Withers, of Auckland, wet flv fishing from the Hiika Lodge, landed four fish, his best weighing 51b.
