f' MAURITIUS AND THE CRISIS
RETURN OF EXPENDITURE * " - (Received Novombor 8, 1.45 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 7 Mauritius, Indian Ocean outpost of the Empire, is still unaffected by the turbulence of world affairs. The War Office during the week-end communicated with all stations instructing them to report immediately expenditure incurred as a result of the crisis, and how it was incurred. Mauritius replied within a few hours: "Nineteen and fourpence,. the cost of replying to your telegram."
