Locke, who played like a machine, was within 10ft. of the pin with his second at tho 18th, and lio holed out. to take tho match, 1 up. Both men played brilliant golf on good, but difficult, greens. The South African was coolness and confidence personified, and his only serious mistake of tho match was at the 17th, when ho missed a 4ft. putt. Locke did the 18 holes in 68, ono stroke better than Sarazen's effort over the same course last year. Hornabrook took 70.
