FIRST REUNION

LIMBLESS SOLDIERS AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION EX-SERVICEMEN'S PROBLEMS The first reunion of the recentlyformed Auckland Limbless Ex-Service-men's Association was held last night at the Tiffin Dining Rooms and was attended by over 30 members. Toasts were interspersed with humorous vocal and juggling items, and tho evening was the occasion for the renewing of friendships.

The president, Mr. P. C. Spearman, said the association had * been formed as it was felt that ex-servicemen suffering from the war disability of a lost limb had a bond of sympathy which the average man was not in a position to appreciate. "Our intention is later to form similar associations in the various centres," Mr. Spearman said. "They are already in existence in Wellington, Christchurcli and Dunedin. The association is mainly a social body, but it will endeavour to nlace our particular problems before the proper authorities. This will be done through the Returned Soldiers' Association, but this body knows perhaps better than those in the Returned Soldiers' Association what our problems are." Mr. J. Gordon, who represented the Otago Limbless Ex-Servicemen's , Association, was a guest at the reunion, and described the work of the southern body in responding to the toast to the visitors.

The following were the toasts: —The King; the Returned Soldiers' Association and Kindred Associations, proposed by Mr. F. Fielder; "Our Visitors," proposed by Mr. T. M. Davits and replied to by Mr. J. Gordon. Community singing was. enjoyed and the entertainment was provided by Mr, F. Baird, Mr. D. Wraithall and Air. Yanvood. The accompanist was Mr. 11. Hicks.
