DEGREE EXAMINATIONS

OPENING THIS MORNING Approximately 1000 students are expected to sit in Auckland for the degree and diploma examinations of the University of New Zealand, which open at Auckland University College this morning. The chief supervisor this year is the Rev. A. J. Greenwood. Commerce students again form a large proportion of the candidates, the total number of whom has not changed greatly since last year. Many »of those taking an arts course are students from the Training College, and they will be sitting a further examination for the teachers' C certificate after the present series is completed.
