BOMBERS FOR SPAIN
EXPORT FROM CANADA FORGED DOCUMENTS USED SENT TO REPUBLICAN FORCES (Received October 30. 7.30 p.m.) OTTAWA. Oct. 29 Revealing that 40 bombing aeroplanes authorised by the Customs for export to Turkey were really sent to Barcelona by means of forged documents, Government officials stated to-day that there was no evidence that the Canadian exporter acted other than honestly. The investigation was launched through reports from Washington that machines built in the United States and assembled in Canada had been found with the Spanish Republican forces.
