LOWER DAIRY YIELD POOR LAMBING IN SOME AREAS [BY TELEGBAPH —OWN CORBESPONDIRNT] TE BUTTI, Saturday Unfavourable spring weather following a hard winter has restricted dairying production in the Te Kuiti district. The yield is now improving, but the supply is estimated to be lower than last year by about 14 per cent. Reports indicate that this drop is general. The hard winter resulted in pew production from cows calving early, those coming in later producing better.

Sheep farmers, especially those holding the more intensively-farmed areas, have also experienced unfavourable conditions. Lambing in the Te Kuiti district is estimated to be lower by 15 to 20 per cent. In some cases in the rougher country the lambing percentages have been qu .te good, but in the areas near Te Kuiti and- Piopio results of only 50 or 60 per cent have been common. The shearing of dry sheep was well forward before the rains interrupted operations and the main shearing will be commencing almost immediately.
