PASSENGER TRAFFIC
INCREASE IN LONDON British Wireless RUGBY. Oct. 28 The fifth annual report of the London Passenger Transport Board, covering buses, trams and underground trains, shows that since the inception of the board, traffic receipts have risen by 13.3 per cent to £30,758,000. In tho same period there has been a considerable increase in expenditure, wages alone having advanced 16.1 per cent to £16,705,000 last year. The year's total working expenses were up by 15.5 per cent at £21,923,000. The number of passenger journeys originating on tho board's system in 1937 was more than 3,723,000,000.
