ACCIDENT ON STEAMER

SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN. Wednesday After a retirement of 35 minutes the jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff in a case in which James Peter Bruce proceeded against the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Limited, in the Supreme Court for damages arising out of an accident on the steamer Canopus at Port Chalmers in January. The claim was for £1531 and the jury awarded plaintiff £6OO general damages and £3l 15s special damages. Mr. Justice Kennedy was on the Bench. His Honor gave judgment for plaintiff for the total sum of £631 15s, with costs.
