MAN'S FATAL INJURIES
INQUIRIES BY POLICE APPEAL TO MOTORISTS [bt telegraph—press association] HASTINGS, Monday An inquest into the death of Lam* bert Emanuel Berggren, of Fernhill> who died in the Memorial Hospital) Hastings, on Friday afternoon f ront head injuries suffered on Thursday night, was opened at Hastings before Mr. (J. Ebbett, district coroner. After evidence of identification had been taken the inquest was adjourned. The Hastings police, who are making inquiries into deceased's death, believe he was Struck by a car an are making every effort to trace ta* motorist. They have issued an app^ 3 for every driver who passed along Omahu Road, in the vicinity of tn9 Hastings Borough Council's rubbw dump, between 7.45 and 8 p.m. Thursday to report at the P° lC ® station. They are also appealing 0 everyone who saw deceased walking this area to report. From information available it 'P*pears that deceased rested in a she e in front of the Memorial Hospital ajj then walked about 100 yards in direction of Fernhill with tlio hospi gardener. Mr. James Spencer. He found lying by the side of the r° about a mile from this place.
