GOOD JUMPERS

REBEL KING SUCCEEDS VICTORY FOR UREKLAW DAUBER TAKES BRACELET A promising recruit from tho hunting field, Rebel King, led practically throughout in the Farmers' Steeplechase Handicap and, although hotly challenged by Gold Brocade over tho last furlong, he stayed w,ell to win by throe-quarters of a length. Rebel King was confidently supported and jumped in dashing style. Gold Urorndo was woll back in the early stages, but made a forward move half a mile from homo and gave the winner a good raco over the last bit. Pinto was always handy to the leader, and jumped well, but faded out over the concluding stages. Gay Cavalier ran off at the socond fence. The nearest to the place-getters at the finish were Dainty Lady, Mana and Alantufc. An Exciting Finish In mi oxoitirig finish, Little Briton gained the decision by a nose from tho favourite, Simint, in the Hunters' Hurdles. The early leader was Green Lapel, but Pyrenees took charge going out of the straight from Strathire, Simint, Little Briton and Sirrom. Three furlongs from home, Little Briton and Simint went into the load followed by Sirrom and Pyrenees. The two leaders jumped the last fence on terms, just in front of Sirrom, who was challenging. Jn a hard finish Little Briton gained the verdict from Simint and Sirrom, who faded near tho end. Centaurus, Mukoi and Strathire followed tho placed homes, Strathire spoiled his chances by a faulty jump early. Finishing in fine style, Ureklaw won the Bardowie Handicap without effort. He was not prominent early, but made a run well out in the straight and went on to beat Son of the Soil, who appeared the likely winner, when he took charge shortly after straightening up. Ora King, Tavern Song, Orwere, Son of the Soil and Ycd Prior were the first to show out from tho start, but after two furlongs were covered Orwere and Ora King were the leaders from Son of the Soil, who headed the bunch. Orwere had charge from Son of the Soil entering tho straight, with Ureklaw improving his position from the middle of the field. Son of tho Soil was in front at the distance, but had no chance with Ureklaw, who beat him by half a loilgth. Orwere hold on for third followed by Yed Prior, Tavern Song and Ora King. Patiently Handled

Patiently handled by E. Manson, Bona Bay finished attractively to beat Sergia in the Members' Memorial Handicap, in which the favourite, Du Maurier, was hopelessly left at the start. Sergia, who attempted to lead all the way, was followed early by Black Musk, Rulette, Forest Acre and Philemup. Three furlongs from home, Sergia was two lengths clear of Black INliisk and Rulette, the rest of the field being closely bunched. The order remained the same into the straight, where Sergia, strongly challenged by Black Musk, looked the likely winner, hut Bona Bay finished too well, to win going away by half a length. Black Musk went a good race to gain third, and was followed by Philemup. Crooning and Rulette. Cheval de Volec, who was well supported, was badly placed early, and was last into the straight, but was doing good work at the finish. The favourite Salon was-.'always going comfortably in a handy position in the Waikato Hunt Cup, and taking charge over the last half-mile, ran on solidly to beat the outsider Wasp, who p.ut up a good performance after covering a good deal of extra ground. Arcadian ran off at the first fence. Electric Flash being in the lead the first time round from Tuaheahe. King Rod. St. Musk and Bolls of Bow. Passing the stand the second time, Electric Flash was closely followed by Saint Musk, Bells of Bow, Salon and Wasp. Lactose and Biform came to grief along the back, where Salon took charge from Wasp, Bells of Bow and St. Musk. Although Wasp battled on gamely, Salon had too much in hand and won convicingly by two lengths. Bells of Bow stayed on best of the others to take third, with Electric Flash, who tired badly, next. Spearford Improved

In winning the Bruntwood Handicap Spcarford showed himself to be greatly improved and more is likely to be heard of him in the future. The favourite Noitaro had every chance and, although she finished gamely, was unable to head the winner. Her turn should not be far off. Sir Tommy began smartly and led along the back from Spearford, Orwere, and Noitaro, with Frontino bonding the next bunch. Spearford charge approaching the home turn, being followed closely by Sir Tommy, Orwere, Noitaro and Frontino. Halfway down the straight, Noitaro challenged the leader and in a close finish Spearford prevailed by a bare head. Orwere, who was having his second start, was a fair third. Prival, after being well back early, finished well into fourth, Frontino, Manawahe and Friskland being next. A Decisive Victory

After making a fast run up to the leaders half-a-milc from home, Dauber came nway in tho straight and scored a decisive win in the Ladies' Bracelet. A four-year-old gelding by Koninev, Dauber has raced only twice previously and appears to be a promising sort. The early pace was made by Overdue, Ureklaw, Lady Kew, Slam, Ngaknru and but crossing the top Ureklaw was joined in the lead by Dauber, the pair being well elenr of Hessketoon.and Aramis. Nothing had a chance with Dauber, who went 011 to win by two lengths from Hessketoon, the latter finishing strongly to beat Ureklaw for second. Dainty Lady was fourth, followed by Gaseyne, Aramis and Strathire. Tho favourite Gay Seton stayed on solidly to win the Bollard Memorial after getting a good run 011 the inside at tho turn. Lornacre began best and showed the way to Gay Seton. Tosh, Beseige and Galilee. Crossing the top Lornncre led from Tosh, Gay Seton, Besiege and Little Artist, with Alytli bringing up the rear. Gay Seton was first into the straight from Lornacre, Tosh and Besiege, with Mangukaha making a run. Hard ridden Gay Seton held off the fast-finishing Mangukaha to win by a length and a-half. Little Artist came homo well to gain third, with Prince Rangi next.
