"DUMMY" COMPANY
PREMIER'S ALLEGATION NO FEDERAL ACTION LIKELY CANBERRA, Oct. 21 The Attorney-General, Mr. R. G. Menzies, referring to Mr. Forgan Smith's charges about a "dummy" company, said the circumstances were known last March. After considering the whole of the information, the Federal Government had no evidence of any breach of the law having occurred, and it was satisfied that no further action was called for at present.
The allegation that a "dummy" Australian company had supplied information to foreign interests about Australian mineral resources, the depths of water along the north coast and places where seaplanes could land, was made by the Premier of Queensland, Mr. Forgan Smith, in Parliament on October 12. He said he had evidence to prove his allegation.
