rare new Zealand; books AUCTION SALE AT WELLINGTON [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Friday Collectors from all parts of the Dominion were represented to-day when the second part of the library of the late Bishop Williams, which included many rare New Zealand books, was sold by auction. The Turnbull Library, Wellington, and the Mitchell Library, Sydney, were among the buyers. Prices generally were good. The highest price paid for any one lot was £2O 10s. This was obtained for copies of the Missionary Register, v published in London, and containing interesting accounts of the' work and travels or the early missionaries. Copies of the Register are now scarce, particularly in runs of consecutive issues. The lot sold to-day was complete for the years 1817 to 1837 and continued with some breaks up to 1853.
