BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES GISBORNE BUILDING ACQUIRED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] GISBORNE, Friday Tho Bank of New South Wales has purchased tho Australian Mutual Provincial Society's building and property in Peel Street, tho deal being one of tho largest in Gisborne's business area of recent years. It is tho intention of the bank to extend its present hanking chambers in order to cope with the expansion of business, and plans are at present being prepared for this work. There is no intention, however, of making any extensive alterations to tho Australian Mutual Provincial building. Tho manager of the Gisborne branch of tho bank, Mr. F. B. Carpenter, stated to-day that tho purchase had been made with a view to preparing for tho time when larger premises would be required. With the expansion of trade expected in the district some time might elapse before bigger premises wero needed, but tho bank was making preparations for the future.

Tho Australian Mutual Provincial Society recently purchased a property on tho corner of Gladstono Road and Bright Street.
