SOUTHAMPTON DOCKS
CENTENARY CELEBRATED SITE BOUGHT FOR £SOOO British Wireless RUGBY, Oct. 13 Southampton to-day celebrated the centenary of its docks, tho foundation stone having been laid 100 years ago on a site of 216 acres bought by tho original dock company for £SOOO. The authorised capital of the company was £350,000. The chairman of the Southern Pailway Company unveiled to-day a memorial column only a few hundred yards from the foundation .stone within the area of tho docks, extensions to which the company recently completed at a cost oi £10,000,000,
