Versatile Young English. Player

writer and producer; After his brilliant small-part performance in "Knight Without Armour," it is no surprise to find John Clements taking a leading role in a now Denham production, "South Riding," Victor Saville's version of the Winifred Holtby best seller, and Clements has the part of the young Socialist, an idealist member of the corrupt local council of a small Yorkshire town. Clements is a versatile young man. As well as acting on stage and screen, he writes and produces plays, and runs as a special hobby the Intimate Theatre, Palmers Green, England. Ho went into films in 1933, but it was not until "Things to Come" that ho made any sort of impression. You may remember him as the airman whom Raymond Massey shot down in the early part of the film. Clements' ambition is to have a chain of theatres, similar to the Intimate, around London, and working in pictures is the nearest financial cut.
