Oct. 11 "Russia offered no help during the Cfcech crisis, but made only the vaguest promises, owing to Iter military weakness,'* said Earl Wintertou, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, iu a speech at Shoreham. Earl Winterton added that he thought Britain and France would have defeated Germany and made her give VP Czechoslovakia, but only after a long conflict and untold suffering, and meanwhile Czechoslovakia would have been ravaged.
