FIIANKTON QUOTATIONS FAT PIG VALUES FIRM OX BEEF PRICES DECLINE [from our own corrksfoxbent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Fat pigs were penned in large numbers at the weekly stock sale at Prankton to-day, and values were firm to in ad\ ante of late rates. There was only a medium yarding of ox beef, and prices showed a decline. Fat sheep were present in fairly heavy supply, and prices generally remained steady. The auctioneers report:—

The Fariners Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited.— A heavy entry of fat sheep came forward, and met with rather erratic competition. Opening values were cn . a par with last week, but the demand weakened as the sate progressed. However, vendors were prepared to meet the market and most of the offering was sold. Hoggets were penned in full numbers, and last week's prices maintained. In the store ?heep section iitlla or no change can be quoted with ewes or hoggets, while an offering of aged ewes, with lambs at foot, sold at satisfactory prices. A smaller offering of ox beef was not so keenly sought, and values showed a further decline on last week. A full offering of cow and heifer beef, including a fair proportion of finished cattlo, came forward, but here again values wero easier for all classes. Competition for boner cows was steady, with prices fully up to schedule rates.
