MARKED DEVELOPMENT British "Wireless RUGBY, Oct. 0 Interesting evidence of the development of British civil aviation is revealed in a review of 1937 just published by Imperial Airways, Limited. Its statistics show impressive advances with regard to the number of miles flown, passengers carried, and passenger and mail ton miles flown. \ The mail ton miles in 1937 totalled 3,607,000, compared with 1,794,000 in the previous year. The quantity of air mail despatched .abroad was almost double that of 1936, and amounted to 667 tons. The inland air mail, rose by 28 per cent to 500 tons. During the year there were only five fatal accidents involving deaths of five passengers, and serious injuries to live others.
