[by telegraph—OWN correspondent] HASTINGS, Thursday A few horses engaged at the Hawke's Bay meeting were sprinted this morning. On the grass, Hunter's Eve, assisted home over the last three furlongs by Bambian, ran five furlongs in 1.3. Wotan, who looks very fit, sprinted three furlongs in 41s. Imogen took 42 l-ss, against tho bit. Hagen and Cullus covered a quarter down the back in 24 3-os. Cullus did not bleed on this occasion.
Thala and Brunhild just shaded Glenvane at tho end, of three furlongs run in 39 3-ss. Royal Minstrel took 39 3-Ss. Tres Sec and Trailer recorded 1.34 for seven furlongs, while Bed Cockade, against the bit, took 1.44. Hunting Mint and Golden Melody recorded 1.6 3-5 for five. Centrepoise and Royal Ace pleased by completing five furlongs in 1.3 3-5. Buster Brown did well to shade Jazz Boy at the end of half a mile in 50s, time whicb Bold Step and Peter Beckford equalled. Boat Song and Thrasher took 1.20 for six furlongs and Refulgent, 1.43 for seven. - .
On tho plough, Le Toquet and Colenso independently ran half a mile in 51s. Tho Ring and Elettra required 545. Fossicker shaded Shani over three in 38 2-ss. ' .
