CROQUET
TAUPIRI CLUB'S OPENING [from our own correspondent] TAUPIRI. Thursday There was a large gathering of players and visitors at the official opening of tho Tanpiri .Croquet Club's season. Players attended from Huntly, Te Kauwhata, Frankton. Waerenga and Hamilton. The club president, Mrs. T. B. McDowall, after welcoming (he visitors and declaring tho green open for play, called on Mrs. J. Gorman to play the first ball. The afternoon was spent in playing competitions, tho winners being:—Progressive A, Mrs. Harris (Frankton); progressive B, Mrs. Synies tTe Kauwhata); crazy rings, Mrs. Windsor (Hamilton); ladder, Mrs. Symes (Te Kauwhata); ball peg, Mrs. W. Carter (Waerenga).
