LAND TAXES
Sir, —As emphasising the tremendous increase in taxation in certain departments since the present Government has held office, it will 110 doubt interest your readers to learn to what extent the new land tax levies are penalising city owners. 1 have recently received an assessment of land tax 011 my residential section which amounts to 110 less than over eight times more than last year's assessment. I realise, of course, that I must be only one of a .host of other victims of our predatory Government, but I am getting some slight satisfaction and compensation in the thought that I shall be one of those who will be helping to turn this crowd out of office on the loth inst.
