MORNING' TEA PARTY VISITOR FROM WELLINGTON A morning party was held at the Victoria League rooms yesterday to welcome Mrs. J. A. Doctor, the president of the Wellington branch of the Victoria League, who is at present visiting Auckland. The lounge had been attractively arranged for the occasion with vases of arum lilies, blue hyacinth and kniphofia. The president, ilrs. J. B. Macfarlane, welcomed Mrs. Doctor, and presented her with a bouquet of sweet peas. She congratulated the visitor on the progress of the Wellington branch, and expressed pleasure at the coming visit of the younger members of the branch, who are to arrive in Auckland at the week-end. Mrs. Doctor conveyed to members the greetings of the Wellington League. She said that she owed a debt of gratitude to Mrs. Hickerbv, the leader of the Auckland younger contingent, who had helped Wellington in the formation of its own junior branch. An enjoyable programme, which had been arranged by Miss Jila Hutehieson, was presented. 3lrs. Reginald Reed played piano solos, and also played thft accompaniments to the songs which were sung by Mrs. Baber. Sketches were given by Miss Poreen Saunders. During the morning Mrs. Macfarlane asked For volunteers among the younger members to join the \ ..A.D. classes to be held under the auspices of the Red Cross Society. The hostesses were Miss J. Mowbray, the life president, Mrs. J., B. Macfarlane, Mrs. L. S. Kickerb.v and Mrs. C. 11. Keeble, members of the executive, and Mrs. Erroi Hay, Mrs. F. J. Alfrey, Mrs. C. Heather, Mrs. H. Loomans, Miss Ella Walker and Miss I. Lorie.
