AUCKLAND RECORD CHANGES SINCE 1935 SOME MARKED INCREASES ROSKILL SHOWS DECLINE A record total of 142,983 electors will bo entitled to vote for candidates in tlio nino Auckland electorates at the general election on October 15,. This compares with a total of 125,986 in 1933 and one of in 1931, Filial counting of the main and supplementary rolls was completed at the office of tho Registrar of Electors, ilr. J. H. V. Carr, last night, and now rapid progress will he possible with the printing of the supplementary rolls, which should ho ready hy about next Wednesday. Tlio provisional total for the main and supplementary rolls was 153,841, but removals totalling 10.858 had to bo made because of duplication or rp. quests for transfer. Minor adjustments may still have to be made. Four Rolls o! 17,000 Electors In only one case, that of Roskill, has a roll showed a decrease, the total in this electorate falling from 16.242 to 15,658. At the last election Roskill headed tho list, but this year four electorates each show a voting strength of over 17,000. Remuera has the largest roll with 17,749 effective voters, and the smallest roll is that of Auckland Suburbs, with 12,/19. In some cases boundary alterations have resulted in variations. The Auckland Central roll suffered most from removals, 1775 names being subtracted from the provisional total for the main and supplementary rolls of 17.540, leaving an effective total of 16,065. Eden removals amounted to 1343, and those for other electorates were as follows: —Auckland West, 1314; Grey Lynn, 1290; Auckland East/ 1278; Remuera, 1232; Roskill, 1090; Auckland Suburbs, 790; Waitemata, 746.
