TRANSTASMAN CUP
The Royal Akarana Yacht, Club has received two entries for a race for tho Transtasnian cup to Sydney in January next. The race for 1 lie Cup last season was unfortunately abandoned, the two competitors retiring through stress "of weather. When some .'3OO miles off the New Zealand coast, a gale of intense severity was met, which not only delayed inter-colonial steamers, hut necessitated repairs to H..M.S I,candor upon arrival at Sydney. Fortunately I tot 11 yachts came through without any serious damage. The prize money for this race has been added to. and set aside by the Hobart City Council for a race from Auckland in 1942, the year of Tasmania's Sesquicentenary celebrations.
