NEED FOR NURSES STRESSED The necessity for the immediate training of students in home nursing and fi Ist aid was urged by Mr. I. J. 11l •idger. director-general of the Red Cross Society, at a special meeting of the committee ol the Auckland Red Cross Society. Mr. Bridger specially emphasised this need in view of the present international situation. A special committee was set up to institute this work and it was decided to call in volunteers to receive training. The classes are to commence as soon as sullicicnt st udeiits oiler. The Dominion president, Mrs. T. 11. Lowry, who has been attending the conference of the International League of Red Cross Societies, in London, is to arrive in Auckland by tin 1 Mariposa on Friday. It was decided to welcome her at a luncheon, when she will give a short talk on the work of the conference.
