PLAYEBS FROM NAVY INCLUSION IN CLUB TEAMS CONTROL BOARD'S DECISION The question of Navy players associating themselves with local clubs was discussed at some length at last night's meeting of the control board of the Auckland Football Association. This followed a notice of motion given by Mr. F. G. Full brook to rescind the rules relative to barring Navy men from playing for clubs. Mr. Fullbrook stated that ho felt that all rules dealing with Navy players should be expunged and a clearer position defined. Mr. W. A. Cole expressed the opinion that the whole position should bo reviewed at the annual meeting. This view was also supported by Mr. C. P. Ward, who said he felt that it was entirely a matter for the clubs to decide. Support was also given in this direction by Mr. A. P. Necsbam, who said that any decision made now might bo entirely changed by conditions appertaining at the commencement of next season. Mr. J. C. Sibbin also supported the suggestion that the clubs should decide the question at the annual meeting. Mr. Fullbrook withdrew his motion and Mr. Colo moved that a remit should be forwarded to tho annual meeting in the following terms:—"That the rules excluding Navy men playing for club .teams should bo rescinded a:rj tho control board should frame other rules as conditions warrant." Tho secretary advised that there were still several of the association's art union books not returned by the clubs. It was agreed to circularise the clubs and to leave the question of obtaining permission for an extension of time of drawing, if necessary, to the secretary. Eelative to the protest by Grey JLynn against North Shore for playing Navy players, and the North Shore Club's subsequent appeal, a report was made by tho two clubs concerned. Delegates from both clubs were present, and, after a conference between them, it was agreed by Grey Lynn to withdraw its protest A request for a match in Auckland by tho Hamilton Wanderers team on either of the next two Saturdays was declined owing to ground shortage.
