THE LEAGUE CODE

SYDNEY TEAM'S VISIT MATCH AGAINST MANUKAU ATTRACTION FOR TO-MORROW The Eastern Suburbs Rugby League team will play the second of its series of matches at Carlaw Park to-morrow, when the visitors will meet Majiukau, one of the finest combinations seen in the Auckland competition this season. Manukau has played many'fine games and five of 'its members were included in the New Zealand team which toured Australia this season. But for the weakening of the side, Manukau would probably have won the Auckland Rugby League's championship. Eastern Suburbs made a good impression against Maris last Saturday, but many keen followers of tho code expect the visitors still to be faced with more formidable opposition. The Manukau forwards are heavier than the Marist pack, have more speed iir the loose and are sure to prove a good test for tho visitors. Eastern Suburbs' forwards, however, will he the heavier set and their ability to play out a fast game on a dry ground must not be overlooked. The Manukau backs arc well known for their spectacular football, and the inclusion of R. Chase, who has been absent from Auckland for some time,' and W. Panapa, a former Rugby player, who has shown" good form in the Leasrnc code, should greatly strengthen the rear division. Eastern Suburbs' backs will find the opposition strong to-morrow, and much will depend upon the ability of the forwards to gain possession of the ball from the scrum. The visitors will field almost the saino team as that which defeated Marist last Saturday, and if the weather is fine there is every prospect of a splendid exhibition of tho code. The teams are as follows: MANUKAU Fullback.—T. Chase. Three-quarters.—R. Wilson, R. Chase, J. Broughton, W. Pile, E. Kirkwood.,(two to be omitted). Five-eighths.—W. Brimblc, M. Panapa, J.
