NEW OFFICER WELCOMED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] THAMES, Thursday" The new borough commissioner, Mr. A. L. Burk, was welcomed at a meeting of the Advisory Committee by the Mayor, Mr. S. Ensor. In replying, Mr. Burk said the Commissioner Act conferred wide powers upon him, but he was not going to use those unduly. His intention was to work in the best interests of the residents of Thames and co-operate with the committee.
