WELCOAIE AT HENDERSON A social evening combined with business was held by the Henderson branch of the National Party this week. Tho chairman. Air. A. Ellis, presided. The National candidate for Auckland i Suburbs, Air. ATaxweH S. Walker, was introduced and gave a short address. .The chairman also addressed the meeting with regard to the election campaign. At tho conclusion of business a, bridge tournament was held, tho winners being Aliss Chilwill and Air. Codling. Supper was served by tho ladies' committee with Airs. IT. Wharton, Airs. Grant, National candidate for the Hamilton electorate, and Afrs. Grant, to meet the ladies of the district was hold in tho Nixon Street Hall yesterday by the members of the Hamilton organisation of the National Party. Tho president of the ladies' committee, Airs. A. A. AlcLean. received the guests wearing a suit of mustard crepe and a brown hat. Airs. Grant wore a black and white tailored suit and white hat. During tho afternoon songs were sung by Airs.
