FIRST-AID AWARDS

FRANKLIN MOTORISTS CERTIFICATES PRESENTED [from our own PUKEKOHE, Thursday A feature at the annual meeting of Franklin members of the Automobile Association (Auckland) was the presentation to 25 members by the president of the association, Mr. F. G. Farrell, of first-aid certificates. In his report for the past year the Franklin agent, Mr. M. S. Campbell, mentioned that with the co-operation of the St. John Ambulance Association a course of eight lectures in first-aid had been given over a period of eight weeks at Pukekohe. Thirty-five members had enrolled, and at the conclusion of the course, 2o had sat for an examination in first aid. All had passed, gaining the certificates. During the evening Mrs. N. H. Harvey, of Manukau Heads, was presented with an enlarged photograph of four members of her family, the Misses -T. and R. Harvev and Messrs. H. and K. Harvey, who had travelled 86 miles each week throughout -the eight weeks to attend the lectures.
