WAIHI BEACH ROAD
PROPOSED RECONSTRUCTION [jJY TKT.KO HAITI—OWN COKTI KSI'ONDTCNT] WATHT, Thursday The Wailii Borough Council last night was notified by the Public Works Department, Paeroa, that it was proposed to declare the Coroglen-Tairtin-Whanga-niata-Waihi Road a main highway. The council was asked if it was agreeable to the proposal and to declaring the borough section a main highway. No objection was offered. ,The No. 2 District Highways Council notified that £BSO, on a subsidy basis of .£•'? for £l, had been approved in •this year's Estimates for maintenance of the Wailii Beach highway. The item also appeared on the notification providing for £1750 for reconstruction and scaling of the Waihi Beach highway. Tho borough has to find £SBO, making a total expenditure of £2.'WO. The Borough Council decided to inform the Main Highways Board that no provision had been made in this year'a Estimates for this amount, and asked what the board's intention was •with rsg&fd t6 st&rtinfc thd trork.
