NATIONAL PARTY
DANCE AT CAMBRIDGE COMBINED COMMITTEES SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION Cambridge, the centre of the Waikato electorate, was the scene of an enjoyable dance held in the interests of the National Party at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. The function was organised by the town and country committees and was an unqualified success. In the absence of the president of the Indies' committee, Mrs. Edgar James, the guests of the evening, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Goosman, were received by the vice-president, Mrs. W. Sands, and the secretary, Miss M. Fisher. Mrs. Goosman was wearing a frock of green georgette and lace; Mrs. Sands was in navy and scarlet floral crepe; Miss M. Fisher wore lacquered blue satin and lace. The stage was decorated with long sprays of peach blossom, magnolia, vivid camellias, and tall feathery hamboo. Festoons of coloured lights gave an added touch of brightness to the scene. The supper-room tables were artistically arranged with large mixed bowls of prunus blossom, anemones, camellias, spraxias and irises, the work of Mrs. T. K. Butler and Miss Nan Butler.
