THE LAMBING SEASON
NORTHERN KING COUNTRY PERCENTAGES BELOW NORMAL [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE KUITI, Wednesday Lambing losses in the northern King Country hare not been nearly as severe as in the Wnikato, but neither are the percentages in the majority of instances likely to be equal to those of normal years. The drop can ' probably be ascribed to two -factors, both of which are inter-related, the eczema epidemic and the unusual conditions that prevailed during last summer and autumn. The lambing this season is extending over n longer period than usual. Greater knowledge of the position will be possible when docking is under way. Probably not 10 per cent of farmers in this area havo yet docked, the cold and wet weather, as well as the extended lambing season, holding up operations.
