YOUTH'S ARREST
BURGLARY CHARGE ALLEGATION BY POLICE POSSESSION OF REVOLVER OPPOSITION TO BAIL Alleged to have been found in posseß- - sion of a seven-chambered revolver* loaded in six chambers, a youth was arrested by Constable Bong, of New! Lynn, and Detective Harris on TuesI day night in a house in New Lvnn on a charge of breaking and entering. Following investigations made by Constable Boag in the Henderson and New Lynn districts during the past few months, the police have seized a quantity of goods alleged to have been stolen from several premises en.-:red this year. Some of 'the property was found in the ceiling ,of a house and some under a house, and it included five radio sets, cigarettes, tobacco and groceries. Tho police are making further inquiries in the districts. A radio mechanic, Vernon Williamson, aged 19, appeared before Mr: C. I{. Orr Walker, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, charged with breaking and entering tho shop of Ina La Rosa, in' Godley Road. Green Bay, with intent to commit a crime. On the application of the police, accused was remanded until next Thursday. "Because accused was found with a loaded firearm in his possession. • I oppose bail in this case," said Detec-tive-Sergeant McHugh, when the magistrate mentioned the question of bail.
