BALL AT TAURANGA AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS MANY DANCERS ATTEND The National Party ball hold in the Town Hall was the most brilliant function held in Tauranga for many years and was attended by oyer 500 dancers. The decorations were most unusual and effective, "Moonlight and Roses" being the keynote for both tlie music and floral effects. The stage was arranged as a loungo and had a background of trellis work and rambler roses, with moonlight effects. The official guests of tlie evening were Sir George and Lady Wilson, of Auckland, who were received by Mrs. F. W. Doidge, wife of the National candi date for Tauranga, and Mrs. P. E. Home, president of the ball committee. Lady Wilson was wearing a graceful frock of black cloque. Mrs. Doidge was in gold 6atin beaute, and Mrs. Home wore floral blue ninon.

Other guests of the evening were:Mrs. Tullock, sister of the National candidate for Rotorua, Mr. H. W. Nixon, Miss Carrutli, of Te Puke, the Mayoress, Mrs. L. R. Wilkinson, Mrs. Lan Gow and Miss Urania MacMillan.

The ladies on the committee were: Mrs. Rankin, Mrs. J. Auld, Mrs. Pemberton, Mrs. Home, Mrs. A. Tudhope, Mrs. Washer, Mrs. G. Maltb.v, Mrs. G. May field, Mrs. R. Wallis, Mrs. J. McLcod, Mrs S. Tollemache, Mrs. Heath, Mrs.' F. W. Meikle, Miss H. Cox and Miss L. Tudhope.

BUCKLANDS BEACH A bridge and five hundred afternoon was held in the George Court, Limited, tearoom yesterday by the Bucklands Beach branch of the women's organisation of tlio National Party. The members of the committee coinprised:—The president, Miss M. H. Foster; the' convener, Mrs. C. E.
