BRITISH DRAMA LEAGUE

ORGANISER'S TOUR ABROAD PROGRESS OF AMATEUR WORK A leading-/part in the work of the British Drama League is taken by Mrs. Stanley Natusch, better known as Miss lOlizabeth Blake, of Wellington, who returned from a 16 months' tour -abroad on Monday by the Niagara. Dur- - ing that time Miss Blake visited South Africa, England and the United States, and saw all that was possible of drama work overseas.

Miss Blake spent a considerable time in South Africa, and in addition to geeing something of the amateur work there, which she found extremely interesting, she lectured in Capetown on the work of the league. She said that amateur drama work in South Africa would, be benefited by the influence of the league. During her visit to the United States Miss Blake visited the Pasadena Community Theatre, outside Hollywood, which impressed her most favourably. She formed the opinion that the time had como for some kind of a movement in America to link up amateur and professional theatres. In England she found the Drama League had made most amazing progress. With her husband, who had come from Wellington to meet her, Miss Blake left last night for the south.
