GERMAN STRIKER GAOLED PENALTY-UNDER NEW LAW , BERLIN, Sept. 12 For refusing to work at "a task of importance to the State," a workman at Magdeburg was sentenced to six months in gaol. He had been ordered by the .local labour office to work on an important building in another locality. After a few clays he walked out without permission. Under a law promulgated in June, penalties of five years' imprisonment and an unlimited fine may lac imposed 011 citizens who refuse to work in the interests of the State.
