Mr. N. McLean (Auckland) stated that it had been practically assured that the championships would be held in his centre that year. The question of dates and location should bo discussed before the final bookings were made. Mr. G. Bush, speaking also for the Auckland Association, said that tho winter games in connection with the centennial celebrations had been allotted to Auckland. His association would need the assurance that the amateur championship boxing tournament would go to Auckland before the expense of booking a suitable hall was undertaken to meet the situation. Mr. .1. Garcia (TaVnnaki) moved that the delegates recommend their respective associations to support Auckland for the fixture in 1940. The motion was carried and Auckland delegates acknowledged tbe manner in which tho matter had been dealt with. The president ot the New Zealand Association for 1939 will be the president of the Southland Association, which, in that year, will conduct the national tournament. One vice-presi-dent. according to past practice, will be .Mr. A. S. Parker, the retiring prosident, and .Mr. G. Bush (Auckland) was elected second vice-president for 1939.
