Fridaj The standards of efficiency and the standard allowances adopted by the Guaranteed Prices Advisory Committee in reaching its recommendations of 1 5.605 d per lb. for butter, f.0.b., and 8.775 d per lb. for cheese, f.0.b., were as follows, according to the report of the committee, which was presented by the Minister of Marketing, the Hon. W. Nash, in the House of Representatives to-day:— 1. An efficient dairy farm is one that falls within the production range of 1001b. to 1751b. of butter-fat per acre. 2. An efficient "whole-time adult male unit of labour equivalent " represents, on a production basis, 57501b. of butter-fat per annum. 3. An efficient average per-cow production is within the range of 2201b. to 2601b. of but ter-fat per annum. 4. A dairy farm is efficiently capitalised at an average of £75 per cow. 5. A reasonable all-over average allowance for interest on the above per-cow capitalisation is 4% per cent per annum. 6. The standard measure of working and maintenance costs, including depreciation allowance, is 5.695 d per lb. 'of butter-fat. v 7. The standard return from pigs on cream-producing farms is 1.54 d, per lb. of butter-fat. 8. The standard allowance to represent the value of housing and other perquisites enjoyed by a dairy farmer and his family is £ I 10s a week. 9. The standard allowances for dairy factory costs are 2.25 d per lb. of butter-fat for butter, with an overrun of 21.75 per cent, and 3.50 d per lb. of butter-fat for cheese, with a net yield of 2.45 and a whey butter return of .75d per lb. of butter-fat.
