SOUTH AFRICA CLUB
ENTERTAINING PROGRAMME WIDE VARIETY OF ITEMS V ADDRESS ON CZECHOSLOVAKIA Members of the South Africa Club who attended the monthly At Home in the Overseas Club rooms last night were entertained with a delightful programme of items. The entertainment included two plays, vocal and elocutionary numbers, a display of magic and a short lecture.
The guests were received by the club president, Mr. .T. A. Albreclit, assisted by Mrs. Albreclit, who was wearing a frock of black Chnntillv laco.
The programme comprised songs by Miss Atkinson and Mr. James Leighton,recitations by Miss Edna de Marr, pianoforte solos by Mr. William Stoupe, a display of magic by Mr. Brian Strickett, a sketch, "The Young Idea," in which parts were taken by Mrs. Lorimer, Miss Joan Steele, Miss Nancy Lorimer and Miss Bcrniee Marra, a comedy, "Heaven on Earth," in which the players were Mrs. J. M. Hinklcy, Miss Olive Blackie, Miss .loan Steele, Mr. R. Pope and Mr. Frank Morrison, and a humorous sketch, "Neighbours," the parts being taken by Miss Mary Peake and Miss Alma Bray. The accompanist for the evening was Miss Theo Halpin. A description of her recent visit to Czechoslovakia was given bv Miss Anita Webster. ,
