PENWOMEN'S CLUB
DRAMA AND MUSIC CIRCLE ORIGINAL SONG COMPETITION At tho September meeting of the drama-music circle of the Penwomen's Club on Tuesday evening, the original song competition for a prize donated by Mrs. J. Innes, vice-president, was held, the adjudicator being Mr. Rav-nor-White. "Come Birds with Wondrous Wings" by Mrs.'Masofield was the winning item, "Glorious Day" and "Twilight" by Mrs. R. Bennett.being placed second and third respectively, and "Little Dancing Lady/' by Mrs. Boyle being awarded fourth place. These songs were interpreted ( b,v Miss Ida Walker, Mrs. Winifred Osborne and Mrs. Gladys Wiseman. Recitations were given by Miss V. de Montalk, Mrs. W. Free and Miss M. Pilkington. Mrs. Maisic Carte-Lloyd contributed two amusing sketches, and Mrs. R. E. N. Matthews gave a recitation. A playotto, "The Reason Why," by Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Rattray, was an appreciated item. A pleasing innovation was an Estudiantina Band quintett by Mrs. J. W. Probert and her sons.
