"Ail obvious desire by holders to liquidate resulted in n larger turnover on the 'Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, «"hrn values showed a marked downward tendency, following general -nervousness among investors. Buyers, however, appeared ready to operate at the reduced Jcvels. Several parcels of Government loans changed hands at late rates. Weakness was evident in banks, where New 'Zenlands sold readily on a declining market. Commercials of Australia also were marked down. Sellers of leading insurances lowere'd their limits. Easiness w;vs most marked among Australian industrials. Market leaders, such as Broken Hill Proprietary, rejected *i, P ir,-neral uneasiness by declining rapidly during the day. Both issues of Klecirolytic Zinc followed suit with fairly substantial losses. British Tobaccos and Punlop-Perdriaus also eased, but G. -1 Coles moved up a shade. AVoolworths (Sydney) sold twice at cheaper rates. New Zealand industrials ffcrc not affected to such a degree, but j,lost issues were (juiet.
