NEW BOAT HARBOUR
qKAHU BAY- SCHEME YACHT CLUB'S ATTITUDE "Although strong objection to the proposed Okahu Bay boat harbour scheme has been made by a small handful of people, no strong argument has yet been advanced against it, and the suggested alternatives have been grotesque in the extreme." states the annual report of the Royal Akarana Yacht Club, to be presented at the annual meeting next Tuesday. "While the committee is not much concerned as to where tho new boat harbour is located, within reason, it is emphatic in its opinion that wherever built the harbour facilities shall be adequate and the lay-out in keeping with the high standard of tho sport." Tho report adds that no eyesore will be tolerated, nor will any ■ beach or other area, with the consent of the committee, be spoiled. Assurances had been received both from the Government and the Auckland Harbour Board that when tho boats were moved a new area with adequate facilities would be provided. .
