LOSS OF FRENCH SHIP
COMPANY DENIES REPORT VESSEL DOCKED AT SAIGON / PARIS, Sept. 8 A message from the agents of the Indo-Pacifique Company at Saigon denies the disaster to the Clauds Chappe. It is stated that the ship is ati present docked at Saigon, and alleges • that the report that it had been losti emanated from Japan.
An earlier message from Tokio said that the Claude Chappe was reported to have caught fire and foundered off the Paracel Islands, in the China Sea, with the loss of 100 lives, including French Army officers and troops.
