WALLABIES FOR ZOO

WELLINGTON IMPORTATIONS MALE EMU STILL ON NEST [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Friday Four Tasnianian wallabies will arrive at the Wellington Zoo , to-day from Launceston, via the South Island, and will be released with wallabies and kangaroos already resident at Newtown Park. At present the occupants of the marsupial enclosure comprise two wallabies and two kangaroos, all comparatively recent additions to the collection.

The young leopard brought down from Calcutta on the Narbada is to be landed ill Wellington on Monday. The Narbada is due in port on Sunday from Auckland. The leopard is the second to have arrived in the past year, its predecessor now being thoroughly acclimatised. The male emu at the zoo is still sitting.
