Crinolines for Modern Brides
"XfATURALLY. with all the world of fashion following the lead into Early-Victorianism, brides have been influenced toward this style. At a display of fashions at Dorchester House, Dr. C. Willett-Cunnington showed a modern bridesmaid in a crinoline and bonnet. At the same time shops in tho West End were showing bridal frocks of heavy satin, with full crinoline skirts gathered at the waist, and trimmed in front with bunches of violets or lilies of the valley.
Mittens of satin, full-length sleeves, and tho thrown-back headdress fastened low over the ears with bunched flowers, all recalled photos of greatgrandmamma in her wedding finery—and incidentally reminded more than one bride-to-be that there was at home a gown Hearing its 100 th year which might as well have a centennial airing.
