MILK PRODUCERS
LETTER TO THE COUNCIU APPRECIATION EXPRESSED Appreciation of the efforts of the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council for the producers was expressed by the Auckland W'holemilk Producers' Association in a letter received by the cil yesterday. 7 The letter stated that in view of certain criticisms of the council's action the association, the oldest body of milk, producers in Auckland, wished to place on record its appreciation of the council's work for producers, and further deplored the omission of some producers in not supplying the council with their cost of production statements. The asso« ciation was more convinced than ever, after the experience of the winter, that more consideration should be given to producers of milk during that period. "This is a very refreshing communication," said the chairman, Mr. I. JV Goldstine. • , . • "It means that producers are behind, the council," said Mr. C. J. Lovegrove. "1 would not like it to be thought, however. that producers are satisfied with the price." ± Sir. J. Haslam suggested that the letter should be framed, but Mr. H. F. W. Meikle pointed out that if this were to be done in the case of all appreciative letters the walls of the council room would not be sufficient for them.
