The Per. C. R. Taylor, of Te Aroha, returned by the Tamaroa yesterday after attending the "Wesley bi-centen-ary celebrations in England. Ho was accompanied by Mrs. Taylor.

Mr. W. H. Fortune, of Auckland, who has been on a trip to England and Europe, is to leave .Marseilles to-day on his return to New Zealand. He expects to ho back in Auckland about the middle of October.
Lieut.-Colonel A. M. Forbes, of the Australian Army Staff Corps, accompanied by Mrs. Forbes, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Tamaroa from England. They arc at the Station Hotel. Liout.-Colonel Forbes organised the unveiling ceremony of the Australian memorial at Villers Bretonncus in July.
Mr. Justice Quilliam will arrive from the South this morning to take up business of the Supreme Court herp next week. This will be His Honor's first visit to Auckland since his elevation to the Bench. Mr. Justice Callan will leave for Wellington to-morrow evening to take part in sittings of the Court of Appeal.
Mr. W. Marshall, Mayor of Paeroa, and acting-chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, who was admitted to a private hospital in Christchnrch early in tlie week suffering from tonsilitis, had a relapse after leaving hospital. His condition is improved, but he will be unable to leave for Paeroa for several days.
